Bore Wells and PDAM Mains Are Two Different Jobs

Most Bali properties draw from one of two sources, and they fail in opposite ways. Bore and shallow wells — the norm in Canggu, Umalas and much of Ubud — carry hardness, iron, manganese and a genuine biological load that shifts with the seasons. PDAM town supply, common across Kuta, Sanur and Nusa Dua, is chlorinated and mostly free of bacteria, but arrives with pipe sediment, a chlorine taste and pressure swings. A treatment chain built for one source is simply the wrong machine for the other, which is why we never quote from a photo of your kitchen.

Every project here follows the same sequence. First a source test on site — TDS, hardness, plus a look at iron staining and turbidity — because measured numbers beat guesswork. Then system selection sized to the villa's real daily draw rather than a brochure household. Installation comes next, with proper pre-filtration, bypass valves and a drain line that actually reaches a drain. The final stage is a service calendar: cartridge intervals set from your water as tested, not from a generic schedule printed on the box.

The recurring theme in south Bali is limestone. The Bukit's carbonate shelf loads groundwater with calcium that crusts kettles, streaks glass shower screens and shortens the life of water heaters and RO membranes alike. Wherever hardness tests high, scale treatment goes in ahead of everything else — softener or TAC media before the membrane — because protecting the expensive stages is far cheaper than replacing them.
