Water Filtration in Kuta, Bali

Professional service in Kuta. Same-day response available.

Kuta's aquifer has more draw pressure than most of Bali due to density, and proximity to the sea means some sub-areas see brackish intrusion in dry years. High TDS from brackish intrusion requires reverse osmosis, not just filtration. We test source water TDS before recommending a system.

The Water Picture in Kuta

Kuta is one of the most established parts of south Bali, and that maturity shows in its water supply. A larger share of Kuta — including Legian and Tuban — is connected to PDAM mains than the newer villa areas further north, though plenty of older homes and guesthouses still run private wells. Kuta also sits low and close to the sea, which introduces a specific risk: saltwater intrusion into shallow wells, particularly in the dry season.

For Kuta wells near the coast, we often see TDS readings that climb well above 500 ppm in the dry months as seawater pushes into the drawn-down aquifer, sometimes with a noticeably salty or brackish edge. That high-TDS water is exactly what reverse osmosis is built for — no carbon or sediment filter will touch dissolved salt, only an RO membrane will. For Kuta properties on PDAM mains, the issues are the usual chlorine taste and ageing-pipe contamination, addressed with a carbon stage and a point-of-use UV or RO.

Because Kuta straddles both supply types and has the added salt-intrusion factor, testing is essential here — a villa two streets from the beach can have very different water from one further inland. We measure TDS on site, check whether it varies by season if you can tell us, and recommend RO wherever dissolved solids run high. Kuta is well within our coverage and quick for us to reach. Message us your location and we will advise the likely water profile for your street.
